To me, this is so mindblowing that it could only have come from Eroc and CoachBT. They are ranking the Michigan quarterback by intangibles. Let me repeat that, they are RANKING quarterbacks by INTANGIBLES. Intangibles, which by definition cannot be measured. $5 to whomever can explain this to me:
Intangibles: In our opinion this is the #1 criteria to look for in quarterbacks! Leadership, swagger, and feel for game.
Intangibles, more important to a QB than arm strength, accuracy, or playmaking ability (this will come up later).
1) T. Forcier: If mechanics are not strength of Forcier’s game this sure the Hell is. Kid has that swagger, confidence that helps entire team, but he also shows a feel, knowledge, playmaking ability that is fun to watch. And of course the #1 intangible, coming in early and having complete spring under his belt.
Ignoring the insanity that is calling playmaking ability an intangible, re-read that bold sentence. I was under the impression that grit, gamerness, and being short, white, and terrible at baseball were above early enrollment on the intangible ranking chart. Oh wait, Tate Forcier is short and white, no wonder he’s number 1 in intangibles.
2) D. Robinson: Close between D. Robinson and D. Gardner. They both have that playmaking ability that is scary. D. Robinson overall elusiveness and feel for finding open receivers won out for us. But it was close between all three actually. Also liked patience D. Robinson shows on film.
So, playmaking, elusiveness, and FINDING OPEN RECEIVERS are intangibles? Other categories rated/measured their elusiveness, accuracy (finding open recievers and hitting them), and speed (playmaking). Also, seeing patience on film? Because fuck you Princeton!
There’s a bit more (D. Gardner is #3, C. Jones is #4, Sheridan/Coner aren’t evaluated), but my brain can’t take it anymore.
