With National Signing Day beginning only hours away, it’s time to turn our attention to the seedy underbelly of college football recruiting. We’ve all heard the reports – the negative recruiting, the high school corches running interference for their alma-masters, the anti-Michigan propaganda, the anti-Rodriguez factions,… But they are nothing more than whispers and shadows in the night to most of us.

Just how deep does this rabbit hole go? Who will shine a light on this most sinister of rituals? MGoBlog is the premier Michigan sports blog, but it’s strictly a straight shooter. It’s the Joe Friday of the Michigan Blogosphere: Just the facts, ma’am. Maize ‘n’ Brew? Too busy getting into blog slapfights over rawk muzik to give this proper attention. GBMW? Maybe if they email themselves a question about it, but likely not.

Then there’s Genuinely Sarcastic, which is neither genuine nor sarcastic, but it more than makes up for that with lots and lots of imagination. I haven’t read all of it. Who could? But it has a lot of words, so it must have something important to say. And boy does it ever – kidnappings, nefarious ne’er-do-wells, former Michigan malcontents to name a few. However, it falls short on the little things like “facts,” “evidence” and “sources” (unless you want to count a subscription to Scout or Rivals). This is where the WLA comes in.

A couple of weeks ago, we sent our most decorated and courageous operative, Col. Dex Jonathan Dexington, to investigate further and provide those pesky evidence-like things that would blow the recruiting underworld wide open. He has since been missing in action and is presumed dead, but not before sending us a short video clip of his findings. The intricacies of the plot, the unlikely alliance of its participants,…we had no idea. It is, in a word, chilling. So strap on your best tinfoil hat, folks. We’ll let the video speak for itself.
