And so ends the reign of the longest-tenured Tiger.
He hit ok sometimes, he fielded pretty good usually, he played everywhere he was asked. In 2003, he batted .203 for a Tigers team that went 43-119 with a $37,000,000 payroll. In 2006, he was a serviceable 3B for a $64,000,000 World Series challenger – and today, it comes to an end, hitting .100 for the $132,000,000 Tigers.
He saw the bottom and saw the rise, but now the ride is done.
